"Dead Man"

Today let's talk about the movie "Dead Man" which was released by Jim Jarmusch  (We can underline the fact that his movies are very weird, "Dead Man" is the only one movie of J.Jarmusch which is the most watchable) Before all, I want to say that this film maker is really good for the use of camera (Low-angle shot...) And to finish with this introduction, we can say that it's a particular movie .. 

We can find in this movie Johnny Depp, Gary Farmer, Iggy Pop... This movie was released on 1995 and this is a black and white movie maybe to show that it's a kind of historic movie The movie takes place on 1870 William Blake (Johnny Depp), a naive young man from Cleveland, went to the town of Machine, on the West Coast, to take an accountant position in the business of the irascible Mr. Dickinson (Robert Mitchum). Arriving there, he learns that his post has already been taken. Disappointed, he spends the night with an old prostitute, Thel. In the night, the former fiance of her and Dickinson's son reappears, kills Thel and seriously wounds William Blake. The latter retaliates by killing Dickinson son, and runs away stealing his horse. Later, when a strange Indian, Nobody (Gary Farmer), convinced that William Blake is indeed the English poet of the same name, tries to treat him, Dickinson launches a trio of hired killers on him ... This is the beginning of the wandering of William Blake and Nobody, both disowned by their respective communities, across the Wild West

Why have I chose this movie ? 

As we saw in class with the painting when Americans decided to do the conquest of west, they decided to exclude Indians but this movie shows us that we can imagine that there were some Indians who were close to americans (in return, amricans who wera close to indians). If I have a good memory, I think that we don't see the transformation of nature, I think that it was before the "real" conquest of west. (We can see in this movie some component of far west) And to finish the actors have a perfect performance (act).
